I should have got a Harley

I'm one of those non-Harley HD guys. Bought a Vrod last spring and absolutely love it, although I got it despite it being a Harley rather than because of the make. I've received 3 t-shirts from HD through the process and I've even worn one of them.

I will say HD makes it much easier to buy a bike than Triumph. It came down to the T-Bird Storm, R3 Roadster, and the Vrod. The vrod I could actually test drive, while the Triumph dealers weren't so accommodating..... around here, each dealer gets one "demo" bike per year, the model varying from year-to-year. I could have ridden a non-demo bike with a deposit and credit check. Well, screw you then.

I must say, one hears about the lack of power on the non-Vrod HD bikes. Coming from the Vrod and some jap bikes, I was actually shocked by how slow they actually are. I had my bike into an HD dealer getting dynoed after exhaust/intake changes. The dealer encouraged me to ride two some bikes while I waited ("tear around a while... just be back in a few hours." Nice touch, that.). I rode a Road King and a Fat boy. One needs a long-ass stretch of road to get from 70 to 100+ mph on those bikes.

Of course, the allure of the R3 was too much and I bought one without a test ride, now counting days until arrival. We'll see if the HD can survive sharing garage space with the R3...

It all comes down to these two guys. Which one was the REAL rider.
Marty:cool:

my guess is you will sell the V-Rod after not riding for 6 mths:D

I too have wondered if they're a little too close in some respects to own both. Truth be told, a Speed or Street triple looks like a nice pairing the Roadster. We shall see.
