There is a gap about one inch wide between the right side muffler and the heat shield on my '15 Roadster. I see a bolt attaching a bracket on the muffler to a bracket on the bike but not seeing how to move the muffler forward to close the gap. Is there an elongated slot in that chromed muffler bracket that I can't see? Photos attached.

YES! Exactly. The left side, muffler and heat shield it butts up to do not have that gap you circled on the right side. The right side muffler projects that same gap distance of approximately one inch beyond the left side muffler exhaust end. Will attempt to attach better photos. I will post photo(s) later of left side which show no gap.

Here is the left side showing muffler to heat shield joint, but there in no gap at that joint. I have seen historical pictures covering about 10 years of this same bike, 2015 Roadster ABS, before I bought it, and there are no gaps at those joints between the muffler and heat shield on both left and right sides. I know a different crossover pipe was installed on the bike recently and that might explain the gap. Still, I want to close that gap if I know how the muffler is attached to the bikes frame.

Okay, I think your thumbs up mean you understand what I am talking about, great. I only inquire about this because because I try to spare my 78 year old arthritis ridden body the need to lay down and do stuff on my bikes before knowing what the consequences are. I will now try loosening that bolt between the muffler's mounting bracket and the bike's frame bracket to see if I can move the muffler forward to close that gap. As always, many thanks.
