how hot does the oil tank get?

Anyone make a guess at the temp it could get to? I want to put something glued in close contact with it, and need to make sure I use a glue or mastic that can deal with the temperature

It should will get no hotter than the temperature of the oil in it. Ranging from 190-230 degree's or so....

Great info thanks - the Sikaflex 291 that I have for another purpose is saying it will stand up to 194 deg permanent and up to 248 deg short term.
