Thanks for the response and suggestions, most of which I've tried. Today I think I'll pull out all the connectors and clean them thoroughly and make sure they're all tight, after yesterday, having cured the first gear issue, I guess I'm fairly close to the problem !
In response to Captain Jack, the rev limiter and I are old friends, we meet regularly !

I shall probably meet up with Mr limiter again in the Isle Of Man later in the year, until then I'm happy to keep him at arms length,(well finger length anyway). When the limiter is kicking in, I'm loosing acceleration.
