Hi All - Just Bought Barney!

welcome from tn and definitely a nice looking bike

Cheers! Bought it from s guy in Knoxville, he had it stored in his shed up in the boonies and didn't ride it much. Apparently it was a bank repo job and the original owner spent a lot of money on paint and chrome extras, it is quite stunning in person really, though I say so myself!

welcome to the site, enjoy the new ride, btw nice paint

Thanks scowherd, tbh when I saw the pictures before I bought the bike I didn't like the flames, not really my style - I really wanted to go all black, including an 06 or later black engine - I even went so far as to buy a black tank and fenders off of ebay, and some chrome sidecovers, to convert the bike to glossy black (it was originally black) - then I finally saw the paint job up close last week and decided to leave it all well alone! I even like now the original colored engine too. BTW does anyone gave any idea what a good quality metalflake job like this would cost? Are we talking about 2 or 3k? I have no idea. Cheers! - Anders

Welcome to the site from "Joisey" and welcome back to the fold of ridership, Anders. Your daughters leotard clashed a wee bit with that blurple-flamed beast of yours, but she's cute as a button and your Rocket III is as sharp as a tack. I will have my Mulberry Red, '07 Std, "The Mistress" delivered late tomorrow or early Monday after about a 2 month wait (don't ask!), so I share in your enthusiam for the new mount. Enjoy the ride!

Hey Xhombre! I told the missus what you said about the color clash and it cracked her up! I also neglected to wipe Sarah's mouth which was covered in Oreo chocolate, LOL! I think I read about your new steed arriving - there are a few 2007s around and I am sorely tempted to buy one - OTOH I may go for the new Roadster when it comes out - I'll be in the UK for the summer, about six months, so there's no point buying now, but maybe in September 2010 there may be a good deal or two on the new Roadster, all depends on the price of course, and of course by buing a 2007 it can be modified to better than Roadster specs, probably everything except ABS - I'm not too sure what Triumph have done to modify the gearbox and tranny, but it doesn't sound major...

BTW, in today's mkt. a good custom paint job, in that kind of scheme, on all of your tins, would run from about $2500 to $4000 depending on who's doing the work. You could get it done for less or more than that range but you'd more than likely get either a lousy job or ripped off, IMO.

Thanks for that info, it looks like a very good job, metalflake and all - my other half is an art professor and she gave it the thumbs up! LOL!

Welcome to the forum, you will enjoy it and the bike. Extra black tins huh..... I like black!
