Hello from Ottawa, R3 Touring info

Salut K , Welcome from Montreal. Bienvenue. I've a R3T 2012 I only got 103.8 Hp & 148 ftlb of torque. Max output at 2200 rpm. Will be going to a different dyno the spring to compare one dyno to another.
Up to you Bernie,if you paid the first dyno guy,he did something wrong, that’s way low,if you want to save some money,or at least have a better setup when you go back somewhere else, take a rip up the 401,load my map, you’ll feel the difference. Of course, after all that white stuff leaves.

Welcome from South Texas; I too had several experiences with my Roadster when I got it back in 2013 or 14; don't remember. Bought her brand new; having ridden a Vulcan for about 10 years (800cc's), I didn't expect to feel the torque the bike had. As I was leaning for a turn and in 2nd gear, I swear I barely touched the throttle and that rear 240 spun sliding the back of the bike. Let off the throttle and the bike quickly centered. It was scary but fun; don't know how else to explain it. In a nutshell, I've been very careful when and how much throttle because she will respond.

Hello K from a bit north of you. Glad to have you aboard.

You got the bug.... Driving the Rocket is infectious..... The common symptom is a sore mouth from smiling too much. Have fun and ride safe.

Congrats and welcome. What an entrance
I loved the Dunlap D251's for my 2010 touring. Great grip, lots of lean.

WELCOME to ya, from WA State!
I never tire of reading a newby freshly ecstatic with his new Rocket!
3 rear tires in 20K miles is about right, but I do not know if the smaller R3T rear tire wears faster than the 240 of the Roadster.

And from another western Wa****onian just up the road from 10lbull. Powering up my 2009 Touring is still a work in progress. Tune, TORs, Viking Exhaust crossover and will install the Ram Air shortly. My 2007 Classic was scary fast after tune and Jardine exhaust. Still thinking on Viking header.

Welcome from Florida! I have a 2014 R3T I bought in April, 2018 with 2800 miles on it. I do not live far from @Fingers in Ocala, FL. We were on a ride and at lunch I told him I did not see myself doing the mods many talk about here to increase the torque/hp of which these detuned motors are capable. This bike has more torque than any bike I have had (all 2 of them over 12 years) and it is instantly available regardless of gear.

Famous last words.

In another thread, conversation was of course about performance, and @BillyIndiana mentioned he had a set of TORS (Triumph Off Road Silencers) available. He gave me a great deal on them. These do not have the catalytic material in them unlike the stock silencers so they flow more freely.

Well... (If you give a mouse a cookie...)

I have ordered the RamAir intake filter and the Viking crossover from @Paul Bryant (a member of this board, a manufacturer of exhaust systems for this and other bikes, and a man of integrity). These choices were made based on what other members have said about these individual components and about them being used together. I will be adding the tune Touring Tune by Nels at TwoWheelDynoWorks which is designed for the TORS and RamAir setup and is in the Resources section of this board. It was posted by @Claviger, another quality, knowledgeable member of this board. If I need to, there is a dyne shop not far from me who can fine tune the bike (Thanks @Fingers ). Are you seeing a common theme here?

Once all of the pieces come in, I will be putting them on and looking forward to the changes. This is a great board, with lots of knowledgeable members who are more than willing to share their knowledge and experience with others.

Now, if I could only stop reading all of the posts here. Carpenter.....Supercharger.....OzClaw....Wheelies.....Suspension Improvements....Blowing off sport bikes.....

I think I might need a horsepower/torque/performance addiction support group. Any suggestions?

All that text just to say that ,like almost everyone you've caught the bug & just want to see what a little more HP & torque feels like . Can tell you it feels really good. That's why we all have a grin while driving down the road. Once past someone and started to laughs and swallowed a bug. Heads up keep it at a grin or smile.
