I went to a Triumph dealer yesterday for parts. I asked the service department to give me a ballpark on how much it would cost to repair my transmission. The tech says about $1000 plus $500 if any major parts gears etc. I told him I had always heard that it would be around three to four thousand. Knowing once it's opened up the price can go up what's the most it might cost? He says he's done many and unless it's totally detonated inside it will not exceed 2k. I love my 05(Silver engine, Red paint and Three mufflers) and would pay $4k to fix it. Except for/ fact that it could be replaced for almost that amount. The dealer I was at has a teally nice 09T for $5900. Plus I've seen even later models in the $6-$7,000 range.

Gulf Coast BMW BRITISH USA. It's not the same shop crew I dealt with in the past. The old crew is the reason I started performing my own tire replacements and repairs. The tech I talked to is supposedly nicknamed Mr. Rocket. He seems to have extensive knowledge of the rocket engine and transmission. But I was a little bit worried when I asked him about undercutting gears and he didn't know what that was.
