APOLOGIES to the group, and @DEcossefor the problem with not starting and causing unwarranted delays.
I contacted and in not so many words asked him, "What's wrong with your system?"
In his usual wonderful technical humane manner, in not so many words helped me realize the correct question was, "What was wrong with me ?"
In similar fashion to the wayward Captain who posts here "I haven't posted in ten years, and the bike won't go -- no, I checked, can't be the battery" and it turns out to be the battery, Ken asked me, "When's the lasts time you changed the battery ? (you know this is a trick question because he clearly states the battery should be changed once a year, and I realize I haven't *ever* changed it).
So this morning, we hung back for a number of reasons, and checking out at Food Lion, there were CR2032 batteries in the rack, and I handed a pack to the woman at the register and asked her to scan it so I could open it.
I proceeded to draw blood with my pocket knife trying to open the package, and with napkin coving the poked finger, a pried open the key fob and replaced the battery. Whaddaya know - it works like a charm now.
We picked up a pack of 24 hotdogs, and a pack of buns - our contribution to tonights "rock soup".
* Just to clarify for other readers, the battery in question is not THE battery (the bike's battery) it is the battery in the Remote Fob for the KeyLess system.

My wonderful keyless is going strong on its original (couple years) battery. I carry a spare fob and battery just in case . . . Shall now be installing a fresh battery and spare.
PS: GRATITUDE @DEcosse for all your help checking out my wiring!
Pleasure was mine @1olbull - hopefully looking just a wee bit tidier
But it was good day just to hang out together and of course special start with that breakfast - thank you again for that!
Just wish I'd been able to make a day out to ride with you guys.
What year is your Dyna @mexican ?
Is it newer CANBUS, or pre-CANBUS?
I actually have a design for either one (but neither has actually been committed to hardware yet)
Second question - if non-CANBUS, do you have the HFSM (with the HandsFree Security Remote?)
