Head count for raa east 2018

Some say,"Yeah, there is never a cop around when you need one," until one saves your life!

Haha, lets not get carried away now. Take a poll sometime, ask "can you recall a time you were glad to see a cop?" You may be surprised how few people can name an instance.

The trees are starting to come out and the temps are warming a bit. It could be really sweet in KY by mid May. I am curious about how our leaders will shepherd 40 bikes on some of these routes. The logistics of a group of that size could be complex.

Will tie a rope around all bikes so they don't get lost

When I used to sail there was a skipper's meeting every day. Ground rules, conditions, courses and so on were discussed.
That applies to RAAs, every time before the ride the leader barks out some instructions and for the most part they work

Thirty nine bikes I am not -nor will ever be a group rider

Rules and instructions? Shouldn't be in the same sentence as riding. I'm with Dave, I always worry that people might get offended that I skip most of the group rides at events, I love you all, but 3 or 4 people is all I'm comfortable with, everyone is different.

No wonder I like you!!!

Eh, you're OK for a cop.

Basic stuff with group riding guys,
Split into groups of six, leave space between groups so car drivers can pass if they wish
Know the basic hand signals for group riding(it helps a lot)
Leave in the morning with a full tank and an empty bladder
Ride your own ride -please- we will all meet up for lunch or at a per-arranged place, we usually split the groups into slow-buzzing along-whizzing along and fast
Lots more like stopping and waiting (one rider) at a corner etc etc
I would be more than happy to go over the group riding at Stearns with those not familiar with the ins and outs .(No charge)
