Harbor Freight lift recall
I won't buy any Safety related equipment from them.....definetly low grade homeowners quality......good enough in a pinch.....but not for every day use.....jacks. jackstands, and other structure related items....are frequently recalled also......be safe//
 
Had a set of truck jack stands recalled for breaking welds. Mine looked fine but didn't want to take a chance. When I think of the numerous times I was under my Ford pickup with them stands being the only thing between me and the weight of the truck.......
 

Man, there is a whole lot of truth there. If I need some weird/light use (as in 1-2 times) tool or consumable like rags/gloves it makes a great place to shop. Other than that it can be pretty iffy.

My daughter works for the parent company of Snap-On so I can get those for 50% off which is still overpayng but not like the guys who shop the truck.
