Handlebar risers?

I've been feeling for a while now that my riding position is not totally confortable and that the bar is just a bit too far away giving me back ache on long journeys.
I 've seen risers advertised on Ebay in the States which offer 2" back and 1" higher with just a 'little' adjustment needed to wires cables etc. Hummmm
I'm sure they are a well made product but at $195 they look a bit steep. I've also seen other risers for sale from China which look similar but at around half the price
Any thoughts guys? Does anyone have experience with these please?

We bought and mounted the Rivco risers on our '08 standard and they make a good deal of difference in comfort (we are short of stature and the reach is much improved). Paid about $200. Install was not difficult and existing cables work fine. Cannot speak for Chinese risers, but we can recommend the Rivco's.

Rivco here as well. When removing the OEM clamps be sure to use a wrench on the OEM clamp to prevent scoring a huge 'eyebrow' in the triple tree top yoke (a common malady). The cables can be rerouted so they will work, however if you want more pull back you'll need to buy the 'classic' bar kit (which includes the cables). The clutch cable does not need replaced with the classic bar kit (just rerouted). With what ever riser you go with make sure you are happy, I don't think the Chinese option was around when I installed mine in 2007. Good Luck

Talk with the parts guy at your dealership (or any dealership, for that matter) and ask about using Thunderbird risers on your Rocket. I have an '08 R3T and they fit, but I don't know if they fit all the other models. They would be a little over half the price of the Rivco's (in the U.S. $110 vs $175). I don't know about the chinese stuff.

If y'all add risers, can ya still lift the gas tank from the front, without unboltin' the hinge in the rear?
I guess that's a dumb question: the answer is prob'ly "It depends"...
Anyhow, what's y'alls experience?

..yes..ya might have to 'finagle' the tongue on the front of the tank as you raise it up, but it will go..

There is a reason the Chinese sell it for half price. Kinda suck to maybe be going down the road and watch it disintegrate before your eyes from metal fatigue. :eek3:
