I'm in the middle of the H4 Eastern Beaver Relay install. For some odd reason - I'm very attached to those parking light thingies that I never use and want to retain them if at all possible.

Is it possible to install the H4 Relay and retain the parking lights without cutting and splicing and doing all sorts of things I'm unable to do? For example, could I just cut away the stock H4 harness that connects to both the main lights and simply plug the parking lights back in under the tank? Sure there will be a bunch of extra wiring but just wondering if this is possible. Thanks!

Sure, just ignore the wires going to the park lights ... they will stay on all the time the ignition is on and when the parking position is selected on the switch. For those who use the low beam cut off and want them dark, just cut the wires. I just snipped mine off and they don't do anything anymore.

If you leave them the way they are, they will work just as before.

I'm thinking of doing the eastern wiring. Does it really improve the headlights? Can you see now? Is it a big deal to do? can you hear any better? just figured I'd throw in the last one for good measure.

Hey Anthony. It was great meeting and riding with you at the Bash. If you remember my headlights, that's how they are with the relay kit. I think it makes a huge difference.

But, imho, the relay kit is more about saving your ignition switch. Without it you will fry the switch sooner or later.

The Eastern Beaver relay kit makes for a night and day difference when it comes to the headlights. Rather than a dull yellow - they are now bright white with the exact same bulbs. Way safer at night + saves your ignition switch.

But the true test is the fact that my wife, who knows nothing about bikes or headlights or anything mechanical, commented on her own as to how bright the headlights were after the install. Now that's saying something. Looking into the headlights now hurts my eyes. Get ready for way more bug hits and cleaning though after night time riding. I was so giddy that I must have gone into the garage and turned my lights on and off about 15 times today.

There is a really good step by step with pictures for this mod by TDragger. Just type in "Standard Headlight Bulbs" in the search bar and follow the thread with that title.
