2015 R3R
I have done quite a bit of survey before I decided to go with the very rare rocket 3 roadster. I live in Malaysia which is not the perfect country for biking. All year long it's bloody 35degrees Celsius, and very very humid. I basically can only enjoy riding in the early morning and evening...
I am new to riding a bike, have been driving for my life and just decided that I wanna start riding. Just for a weekend getaway. Nothing routine... Will only be getting my riding license next month...
I am planning to get a 2015 R3R, leave it stock for a while until I am very comfortable riding it, then probably some louder pipes and some blackout to make it look like a rocket X...

I looked up in the search column for "Malaysia", and ended up with no result.. I guess I might be the only Malaysian who likes R3R... I know there are probably 10 rockets sold in my country, but I don't know them.. If there are anyone out there who knows Malaysian that own a rocket3, please do introduce to me.. It's always better to have friends with the same interest..

I know riding a bike this size is no easy way and needs a lot of experience and practice. I have already started to train with a smaller bike on some slow speed maneuver. When I get my license and the roadster I'll be spending some time practicing some slow speed too until I am really comfortable with riding it, I am not going to risk 360kg tipping over on the road.. Later in when I am more experience I'll be riding with my wife and that's when I need to put in some saddle bags and trunk and probably a fairing..

In Malaysia the option for mods are just so limited.. Or maybe I should say none... I saw Corbin, Wilber's, carpenters, outlaw shorty, ect. and none of them exist in Malaysia. So I guess my next step would be to find out ways to get these parts and get someone to fix it for me in Malaysia..

I probably would try some cruiser group riding but I doubt I'll like them. cant handle the hot weather, and probably I am not a big fan of socializing with a big group of sweaty blokes...

Anyway, that's all for my introduction and what I am going to do from now onwards, I probably I'll start another thread about "Can 2015R3R fit Wilber's 642, Corbin saddle bags, Corbin fleet liner trunk, TORS, at the same time? And can the bags and trunks be easily removable and reattach"

It's good to have a forum to talk about this bike because I am afraid Malaysia doesn't have anyone talking about this bike...

Thanks

Welcome from Florida USA.You've come to the right place for information on the R3 if you can not get an answer here you probably won't find it.A great bunch of riders here.

Yeah I have been reading a lot of the threads. Credit to this forum, it actually allow me to make up my mind buying the bike.. Not just reading from the official reviews that's almost copied exactly from the same source..

Hello SeanC and welcome from Virginia. My visit to Malaysia while in the Navy is the only place food was not nice to me. Now don't get me wrong, I love the flavor of everything I ate there and the prices were not bad either. But on the last day in port Klang, a buddy and I rode the train out to Rawang just to see what was there. We asked the train attendant where we could get some good, traditional Malaysian food around there. He looked at the two of us and asked. "Do you want traditional or local food? Traditionally, we are cannibals." We quickly chose to eat local food instead. I had some sort of fish/chicken soup with rice and sugar cane juice. By the time we rode back to Port Klang, my tummy was pretty mad at me. To make a long story shorter, I ended up with four invasive procedures over the next five months due to whatever I ate that day.

Welcome and good luck with your venture. You're certainly going for it. Well done and happy riding.

Welcome @SeanC! I'm probably the nearest rocket owner to you on this forum. I don't know how tall you are but if you are like me, an average Asian, you will probably want to lower your bike with a 11.5 444 progressive. Easily shipped from overseas and installed by your local workshop.

Anyway which part of Malaysia are you located it? There's a new triumph dealer that just opened for business in JB.

Take your time and have fun!
