Okay, so can anyone tell me what the weak points on the R3 are?

I have been noodling what I am going to do with this beast to make it even more beastly and before I get too far down the path, I am curious if anyone has broken the shaft-drive, transmission, or crank on their way to big HP..

Bueller?

With only 10 posts to your name, mate, your question is infinite.i'm wondering 'how long is a piece of string? and where have you been??????, this forum is loaded with answers for you, so....after considering the question again.....i can only say, there are NO weak points if you have enough money:cool:

to many broken cranks to keep count but most were from the blower drive. Two have broke do to detonation. Two clutch baskets have exploded.

One internal Clutch hub has exploded destroying the Blower cover and bending the input shaft to transmition. (this was on my bike) Been back up and running for over 4000 miles now.

As for what has broken in Homobres turd good luck finding out as I find him to be as honorable as most of the fellers where I work.

Stay NA and you will have less problems.

That's more of what I am looking for. What do you think the crank handles if the HP is detonation-free and it is turbo charges versus supercharged?

Is there an aftermarket clutch basket?

What about the rod failure point? Pistons?

Staying stock will not be an option long-term. I do have another project in front of this one, but I always plan months in advance of doing the work to ensure I have a full picture of what I am up against, what budget I need, and get the hard-to-get parts in as much advance as possible.

This isn't my first custom turbo system rodeo. ;) I'm not going for any records (unless I take it down to PRI) but I do want to make a whole bunch of safe power.

The most HP she can handle can be a good question. Mine is up there but I do not know what it is as I never worried about that number just the A/F numbers. To be honest with you the stage 1 silver back 240 kit with larger injectors and fuel pump added will give you more then can be handled anyway. (thats with a good 2 inch free flowing exhaust like Carpenter Racing has)

MTC make a billet Clutch basket that is one strong basturd.
The stock rods will hold 8500 but I have a set of Crower rods in mine. they hold 9000 rpms just fine.

is this a guess at what is possible, or what has been done already?

i reckon 1000hp is possible as there are plenty of 2.5ltr cars that have been tuned up to those levels. as for what's been done already, alls i knows is warp and trirocket must be in the region of 400. but then again boost level is a variable and it depends on how much risk you're willing to take etc

Life is a journey not a destination.
I would pefere to travel through life in style and not get to the destination too quickly.

Yes! I know some would like to use a track for motorcycle use.
Me, the long and winding road is as handsome as it gets.

Now if I could only wring a couple of extra HP out of here...I want to be a blur in the cows eyes. :)

Cheers.
