GI Pro ATRE Question

As I understand it, the GI Pro tricks the bike's ECU into thinking it's in a chosen gear (let's say 4th) and so the ECU uses the 4th gear ignition timing which gives a little more power. So far, so good...

So, does the ECU also use the secondary butterfly settings for the chosen gear? e.g. if the GI Pro tells the ECU that the bike's in 4th, will the secondaries be open 100% along with the 4th gear fuel map being used?

Doesn't that depend on the tune you have loaded eg, with the TORS tune (20226) I think that the secondaries are closed further than the standard tune, could be wrong though (usually am).

That's a fact. But if you want to make sure, just remove the secondaries. The GiPro, in my opinion, is the best mod for the money. Followed closely by the headlight relay mod, the cat delete, and the ignition switch relocation. Somebody wrote yesterday that the anti-theft bolts on their ignition had become loose, and they could remove them with their fingers. Lucky bastard.

Yes, that thread was one of the reasons I asked. It seems counter-intuitive to me that the fuel map / secondaries would not be under the command of the gear position sensor when the ignition maps are. I'm currently using the standard 20222 tune because, well... my bike is standard, so the secondaries are 100% open in 4th and 5th.

I'd like to get down to Power Tripp's in Birmingham, AL sometime in September but it's a fair haul from Dallas, TX. The Gi Pro might tied me over if I can't make it. Luckily, 'er indoors is likely to win a trip to Napa, CA in September, so I might have a few days to myself.

I saw that too, hence "But if you want to make sure, just remove the secondaries." But I do know that if they were still in there, they would be open 100% based upon the rod location. And it depends which setting you have the GiPro on....

I tested mine when I installed the Gi Pro by removing the plumbing and selecting a gear. Secondaries slapped open as soon as I selected a gear. ignition was on but not running.
might make a difference when actually running.
