Wondering if anyone else has noticed gears not engaging smoothly at higher RPM's? Almost every time while switching to 4th gear (sometimes 2nd as well) at or above 3k I get gear grinding, anything below 3k gears engage smooth with no grinding whatsoever. Wondering if it's just nature of the beast or something I should be concerned about. Just noticed it within last 1k miles..
 
It still in warranty - Let the dealer know and let then sort it out.
Do you run a full synthetic oil? this makes the transmission smoother.

Yep, still under warranty and synthetic since 500 miles. I already took it to dealership once, and supposedly couldn't replicate the problem which is most likely bs, guess I'll take it to more reputable place.
 
Definitely sounds like a dealer repair even if you have to take the bike to another dealer. If they say they can't duplicate the problem call Triumph U S A.
 
Good luck with Triumph dealer..... even able to tie their shoe much less fix your problem.
 
Hi Martin ! Not sure it's anything to worry about. Mine has always ground some at higher rpms. I think it's because the engine has very little flywheel effect. If your a little leisurely on the up shift, the engine speed drops below the speed of the next gear and they don't mate smoothly. I asked about it early on when I had the dealer in Kalamazoo load the tors tune for me. After the test ride he said mine shifted better than some of them he had ridden. I noticed mine shifts lousy with Castrol synthetic but much better with Mobile one.
 

How you doing Fred? Thanks for the info, I switched to Mobil one from Castrol beginning of the year and definitely noticed smoother shifts as well (less clunky) with the exception of the gear grind which seemed to start few thousand miles later so I'm assuming oil doesn't have anything to do in that case. Gonna try life cycle instead of fox to see if they think its an issue, if not just going to have to limit my high rpm shifting.
