Has anybody got a fuel tank cut open? If so, would you be able to post a photo of the underside of the filler neck and tanktop area please.
I need to see the inner side of the tank....

TIA.

Thanks Owl. As soon As i saw it I remembered it being posted  The tourer is real hard to fill up, especially if you are using a pump that really throws the fuel down the neck. So I am looking at drilling the neck a new hole  to help vent the pressure quicker.

I drilled out the existing vent hole. Boy, I can get the whole 23.5 litres in and still have an air gap.
You know the tank is empty when you roll into a servo with the engine coughing

what size did you expand the whole to?

I'd like to create a box that fits where stock cat box goes, mount all my stock fuel pump stuff ( as seen in the picture) have tank just open, with one hose running down to the box, and have the box feed ( pumped) the engine.

Gravity and pressure would allow the fuel to run to the lower box, and you would increase your capicity and range.

even if it was just a few gallons down low, the extra space in the tank, the fuel lines etc.. youd add a lot of fuel.

I'll have to answer you next week. Bike is missing till then and I don't remember. Basically, I sat drill bits against the hole and went up a size after one wouldn't fit. drain
