FWIW, pretty much every motorcycle front tire I look at is cupped. Not just Rockets, I mean when I go to a meet, and look at peoples bikes, the ones ridden a lot are always cupped up front. Crazy, it holds true for all types of bikes, and my own Pilot Road 2, a "sport touring" tire, was cupped badly on my 'Tona at 13,000 miles with at least 1/2 the tread depth left.
I think it's just a combination of factors, the mains one being; under inflation, aggressive cornering, aggressive braking, and very soft compounds on most front tires.
