I should just answer with "my bad" but I'm afraid of the back lash ha ha

Actually I reckon it is a good tyre. Great grip and threw water out like nothing I've ever seen. Wore out pretty fast though and is not an attractive looking thing (not that that really matters - all that much anyway. Well maybe a bit.) As I said, unless it was better than the Avon for handling and grip I was going back to the Avon because I really like that tyre. Bottom line is that I didn't feel it was better than the Avon and doesn't last as long. If they ever do a Max in our size, I'll certainly give it a go.

I thought seeing as the topic has resurfaced I should comment, where as the Shinko 757 was an far superior tyre to the Metz I have had two failures since the earlier report I say two but it may be because they were from the same batch number the first Shinko I put on was amazing giving me 9000 trouble free good grip and fantastic steering and on that basis order two more the next one delaminates at 6500km while towing camper thought it was a one of situation so put the other one on and it too delaminated at 6000km being away from home at the time and only being able to get a Avon Cobra I had that fitted it has been 3500km with little sign of wear very happy with it, but while it is a much better tyre than the Metz it does not steer as fast as the Shinko and also while giving reasonable feed back it is not as confidence inspiring when you start to push it. The Avon Cobra is a bit more of a neutral steerer and will be my tyre of choice till something comes along that can give the same feeling as the Shinko, also in defence of the Shinko I was pushing it fairly hard with camper on back both times so I may have pushed it past its load rating? It does have a lower speed rating than the Metz or the Avon and I have been informed that the Shinko 757 is no longer made havering been replace with an SE series tyre
 
Had 3 Metz on the front that all cupped within 2000-3000 miles. the Cobra has over 5000 and no cupping yet. Handling is good, slightly quicker turn in than the Metz.
 
If i can get 10,000 or 12,000 miles out of the Metz i'm happy, after all it is what it is a bike tire. This bike was made to run in the triple digits, sacrificing longevity for safety is kind of a crap game wouldn't you say..Ask a NACAR driver how many sets of tires they go threw on a 500 mile race, the average is around 9-10 sets of tires. It's been awhile since i've watched an Indy 500 race but they change their tires at least four times. I realize they all have big money sponcers,just think what a few weeks in the hospital will run you these days.

I have found nothing unsafe riding darkside. It is only considered unsafe, in my opinion, for those that are not comfortable with riding a motorcycle to begin with. Some people have been riding for years but when you watch them they look stiff and unsure. Those are who I would not recommend to try darkside.
 

To true you have to flow with the bike but still maintain the controll, stiff body will cause an accident far to easily
 
I can get maybe 10,000 out of a front Metz, despite the cupping, never got 5000 out of a rear. Well, maybe this one.... Just Barely made it home from Bennington, VT on this one, on a Sunday, no shops open.

I wouldn't call them far surperior if they delaminate weather they handle better or not I'd prefer the tire that holds together
