Afternoon Guys
Searched to no avail so a quick question about the a Rocket front end ,replaced seals ,the two bottom bushes ,springs and oil but still have a very slight oil mist on the chrome legs as the have some light pitting.
Have seen replacement chrome legs for around £120 but can’t see any information on how they separate from the alloy fork bottoms, anyone had to do this?

The tubes will separate from bottoms by removing a allen headed bolt counter sunk thru the bottom above where the axle rests.
You have to use an air impact to remove but quite easy. I actually change seals from the bottom and only go thru the top caps to replace fluid.

Thanks for the rapid response gharger
Not sure if we’re talking the same thing gharger, if I’m not having another senior moment I thought the Allen bolt held the damper rod in place, only replaced the springs and seals earlier in the year and struggling to remember lol

The stanchion bottoms, the silver part of the forks, are threaded into the bottoms that have brake mount and carry the axle.

There are special tools made to handle the install and removal.

Where did you find the replacement tubes for 120? I’d love to find a set of black tubes (for the added strength of DLC over chrome not the color).

I’d write them to verify fitment regarding USD on all non-touring vs normal forks like in the touring.

Good price, that image looks to be a stock image though, it’s the same image for all model, not to say there’s anything wrong with their parts, they just use one image.
