Hello to all again,

I really like this forum and have found it very informative, but after reading the problems with the transmission i am a bit worried about it now, as i own a 2005 model which is now well out of warranty. I don't really want to get to 30,000km's and give out on me. whats the repair costs of such a failure. Also remembering that in Australia this bike costs over 26k. It may be relative in costs to other countries but i have to admit it is my own ignorance that says it is very expensive here Australia.

Am i just a panic merchant. If so feel free tell me. I do love my bike so please be gentle.

once again in advance thanks for your input.

ps. Does anybody know how I can change my STANDARD BORE which appears under my name.

If your Rocket is running fine, ride it. Don't get ulcers about what might happen, should of happened, didn't happen. There have been some with transmission problems, but usually (knock on wood) they happen while the bike is under warranty in the majority of cases.

Since I'm stuck in Afghanistan for the moment and can't ride till probably March when I'm back in the US, I am envious of those of you who can ride, so, again, ride it.

What do you want to change that to; plain, big, or just boring. :D After you have intercourse, I believe it is 500 times in one evening, you'll never be a standard boar again. It's a forum contribution ranking. :D

There have been a few transmission problems.. But it's just like on BMWs, where a few final drive units failed.. or Goldwings where a few frames cracked.

I have an early model Rocket.., July '04, with 40,000 miles on it still running strong.. :)

From what I can ascertain, Triumph will repair/replace any defective parts/assemblies no matter what the mileage or year, at their expense. Having said that, it becomes a dealer issue which, is why I'm taking my '06 to Baxters and and bypassing at least 6 dealers in route.

Be there 12-20.
