Hi
changed a fork seal, but still leaking. immediate thought I done it wrong.
Pulled apart, no scratches on fork tube or stantion, bush seems ok, seal seems ok.

can i get a check on orientation of seal?

seal: flatter edge with writing and chamfer points up towards the headstock ?
washer: curved face, faces down to wards the wheel?

just need a sanity check.

First thought is seal is not right for bike. oil seems to leak all round the seal not just in one location.

I checked manual but could not see orientation

Thanks

Also: be careful which dust seals you order, i received some that sit in the fork tube making it impossible to remove for cleaning! as there is no lip leverage.

There's an easier solution

I had my fork seals changed last year but I noticed that they (the forks) seemed "softer". Is it me, is that normal or is there an adjustment somewhere? Any FYI would be great.

Are you the original owner? If the forks have been serviced before it may have had heavier oil. Most members here will go up to 7.5 weight. If you had a dealer do it and didn't tell them, then they would have gone back to 5 weight like it comes stock.
