I updated my shop program and it now colects info on vehicle repairs so now i do not put in the last 2 numbers of the vin1
I suppose that is the way car fax gets its info.

Funny you should mention that. I just got a CARFAX email concerning my '16 Ford F150 detailing my current mileage... when my next oil change is due... when my next tire rotation is due... and how many months are left on my vehicle registration... WTF?!?
