It seems like the older I get the busier I get. Getting older and being busier are better than the alternatives of course!

I took the bike out for my first proper ride yesterday. Only 75km and limiting rpm while running the engine in but I started to get a feel for the bike. It’s surprisingly capable and I’m enjoying it so far (and no wrist ache at the end, which was nice). There seems to be a lot of goodwill toward the bike from other bikers, regardless of what they are riding, which is nice. I was stopped at lights yesterday and a guy pulled up on a Multistrada, gave me a fist bump and told me how amazing the Rocket looks. It definitely has a feel-good factor when riding.

So far, so good.

I also found that a lot of people give ya the wave on the rocket more than other bikes that are not harleys. I think a lot of the time they don't even know what it is since seeing them is few and far between( in my area anyway). I also find a lot of older guys used to own triumphs back in the day so it probably brings back some memories when they see them.

If you go to car shows where you drive up and down the street you will see a lot of people really lookin at the bike since it is so unique. I'd say it took me about 800 miles to become fully comfortable riding it, then again had I changed the foot controls to mid position right away, it probably wouldn't have took so long since that is the riding position I'm used to.

The biggest draw back to riding the Rocket is its hard to get any cars that wanna race you, especially if you put a loud exhaust on. When I rode a 750 honda I'd easily find someone that wanted to race around. I suppose with the rocket they figure they have no hope. Glad to see you are taking to it well and having some fun, this bike will bring a smile to your face for months.
