Hi guys,
Finally things start to settle down a little in Egypt and at work and hopefully I will have time to work on the bike and see what’s going-on on the site.
But I’m terrified of screwing up my bike and I have a few questions if some of you kind enough to answer them (I know this topic is old but I’m trying to catch up and be careful), a while back I got what I need to do the Triple K&N / removing the secondaries and I want to install them now, I have already Jardines installed and I have the factory tune on the bike, so here are my questions:
-Do I need to install after market tune software like PC , Tuenboy or TuneECU? I heard the bike can run too lean if you don’t.
-In case if I need to install tune software, is TuneECU (the French free software) still available? And will it be adequate for my application?
-Do I need to buy and install O2 sensor eliminator? Or I can use the software to eliminate it?
Sorry for too many questions on old topic, and thanks in advanced,
Peace,

18mm drain (oil) plug will work as an O2 eliminator. Prob best to use, as the O2 sensor will be trying to alter your tune. Yes , for best results you need a tune, & then dyno it. Jars & triple filters can produce over 150hp, but they won't be anywhere near that on the factory tune.

Thanks blastedbones, also thanks IDK, but i went to the TuneECU link and it did take me to the Window Live site and i signed up then i found nothing on the site!!

If you don't have TuneBoy then TuneECU will work for you as well. There are plenty of tunes for your setup available, but you can't beet getting your own bike tuned. Stock tune will be way too lean.

I still have the O2 sensor with my setup and have had no problems. If you think that the low throttle settings are getting too lean then you just reload the tune. That takes about 2 minutes.

I used this one "Thread: Free TuneECU tuning software for all Triumph triples" and its not working!

Hey dude if you don't want to take the O2 off yet go to the A/F percentage tab and make all the 14.57 ratios 14:1 it will also help in case she is a little lean. You will notice all the different A/F numbers and if you go to PC3 this basically overrides all the preprogamed ratio's

Thanks warp9.9,
you guys great help

by the way anybody has the tune map for "Rocket III stander 2005 with Jardines , Triple K&N secondries removerd, GIPro" for TuneECU?

the Gigpro will overide the timing in the tune ecu map as the bike will think its in one gear. When you find a tune you might have to turn the gigpro into a gear indicator. But I am not a Gigpro master. Others on this site might be able to answer that. I remember helping someone thru this as the the Tune boy would not work because it could not find the other gears. therefore he had to make a gear indicator out of it. I believe it was TEvans that had the problems.
