Finally got around to installing some bling

I wanted the wider part lower, more in line with the handlebars. I don't have a wind tunnel but when I moved the deflectors from the short windshield to the tall one they seemed to be further away so I flipped them to maybe makes sure I have less chance of airflow over the grip area. My fingers get really cold once it gets below 35 or so so I want to make sure they are out of the wind.

I guess what ever works for you. I have check around my hands for air flow numerous times over, under and around the grips going down the highway with them on and have found little to no air flow in that pocket. Just my thoughts. Stay warm.

Back about 4 years ago or so (maybe 3) I purchased a Touring fender rail kit from a forum member here. I figured it has been on the shelf long enough so I finally got around to putting it on. The rear was so easy a caveman could do it. The front was more of a challenge, it would have been much easier with the front wheel removed but those pesky Triumph instructions showed it going on with the front wheel on. It looks nice even though I broke the front badge so now it is badgeless, but that is OK, I already have plans for something up there. I figured while I was there I would add some special stickers to my top box also. Now I am ready to ride Friday. I will try to remember to get some decent pictures some day. The fender rail kit is not seen much on R3Ts because it is so hard to find and IIRC they only made it around 2008. One interesting note, I was missing 2 rubber grommets in the kit but for some reason 2Wheel Pros had them in stock, that was a lucky find for sure.

What trunk set up is that, Ive been away from this site for almost a year. That's the nicest looking trunk slash rear seat set up Ive seen. I need to do something like that for my wife because she loves to ride but has some disabilities that I jush wish I could do something like that for her.

Nice setup Bob! Can you get the hard side luggage compartments for a classic. My bike is the same paint scheme and those look awesome! I have leather saddlebags currently but I am not too fond of them. :thumbsdown:

@kingmerle

Here is a thread when I did it and redid it. Finally got the 64 dollar trunk mounted.

So far it has held up great. I have the long haul touring seat on the bike and so far the wife likes the setup. The seat could be a little wider for those women who have a little more real estate in the rear.

@foxviewnet

I am not sure if you could find a set or not. Those are Triumph stock OEM (can you say spendy) because I have a touring. You would have to find the mounting brackets and other stuff and they still may not work. A lot of people put the Corbin Beetle Bags on their non-touring bikes.

Thanks Bob, I will check those out. The ones that came with this bike were purchased by the previous owner and they actually get a little too close to the exhaust. after a long ride, I think that someone is grilling steak in my garage when I shut her down, lol!

Mitzy just sold a front rail kit for the touring. I sure would have liked that! Alas, it was a bit more money that I have right now.

I have the rear rails for the back and panniers from when I bought it. I guess I didn't know what I have till now. (and what I'm missing!!)
I'll start saving up for when another front rail kit comes around, if ever.

I did add a temperature gauge and a dial clock to the handles bars just now. For $9 I could not resist. Even though the console has a digital clock built in I wanted to even out the look on the bars to tone down the OSD.

This bike is going to nickle and dime me to death, and then I'll probably trade it in for a classic or maybe even a roadster, yikes. I don't know if I would like the pegs that far back, but o lot of "old" guys on here have 'em. So I'll ask them how they like theirs the future .

Nice looking tach setup as well! :):rolleyes::thumbsup::D

Thanks, I've been trolling for the last 3 weeks, calling dealers in Canada and the US and have dug up some obsolete items. I won't stop until I find all that I would like this bike to have. I was lucky many of the items were already on it but there are a few thing I would like to complete it. I don't want every option but I would like it to be dressed. I've never had a bike worth polishing so this is a new experience to me. So far I have been luck to find discounted items aside from the solo rock. My bike came 2 up ready but I personally like the look of the solo accessories.
If you haven't found one yet I have one in the classies now.

For Sale - Touring front fender rail chrome, brand new - AGAIN!

Thanks for thinking of me but I do have a front rail kit installed. It's the rear rail kit and fender chrome that I am looking for. I appreciate the effort and apologize for my lack of attention to this forum lately as life has kept me pretty busy. I'm still trying to find a few trinkets for my rocket touring.
