Final Drive drain plug snapped...

You remember the dimensions of that bolt by any chance?

Sorry for the delay. I got caught up in the holiday.

Here is what I got for the dimensions:
Hex Head = 12 mm
Flange Diameter = 16.95 mm
Shaft Diameter (outside threads) = 9 mm
Length of the shaft (flange to end of bolt) = 15 mm
Length of the bolt (hex head to end of bolt) = 23.17 mm

I never could figure out why Triumph used a steel plug in an aluminum housing without a washer..There are washers out there that do fit the plug Muleskinner might be able to help you with that. Triumph says change the final drive every 10,000 miles after the break in of 500 miles i find that totally irresponsible on their part... I change mine every oil change..JM2C

Thanks. 9 mm though? That's pretty oddball, I'd have expected M8 or M10, ie 8 or 10 mm. I doubt if that can be replaced with something generic in that case. Drainplugmagnets has an M8X1.25X12 and an M8x1.0x12 that might otherwise have worked (not sure if it's a standard thread or a fine that's needed either). They also have some short M10's, but 9 mm... I suppose they could be using some imperial size bolt? Wouldn't surprise me with Triumph, the mishmash of bolts on the bike is sometimes bewildering.

Thanks for measuring!
