Final Drive Breather Cap Removal?

Hi All,
I have a replacement breather cap for the final drive hub and I can't get the old cap out of the final drive hub. I'm assuming that the breather cap is a push-in fit? I'm replacing the old one because the chrome plating on it was pealing off and rusting... Can anyone give me some advice on how to remove it please.

Apparently not. Don't know if I've heard of anyone doing it before. My suggestion is contact the folks you got the one you are installing. See what they know.

From the sounds of it you may want to clean it up, tape it and hit it with a squirt or two of black (or color of choice) paint.
