Everyone prays for rain. Can we pray for a pause in rain?

I was looking around for something else to do on my vacation due to all of the rain. I found a rally in Bandera that looked fun. So figured if the rain was an absolute thing still on Monday we could go to Big Bend, Bandera, etc instead. But believe it or not my Honey Bear told me at lunch that he thinks the rain will be scattered and not a constant and he still wants to go to MV.

Don't let a little rain scare you! The Rocket handles rain just fine (with good tires). I rode through several down pours last weekend with no problems. My bike is still dirty! The last time I rode to Shreveport, LA.. which has been a while ago, I rode on severe rain from La Vernia to Shreveport.. not stop. When I got to Shreveport, the news stations were urging people to stay off the roads.. but there I was riding along in my rain suit....

I really wish I was going!

I am not so much scare and as just dreading riding for hours on end in the rain only to wake up the next morning and ride hours on end again in the rain. I know the Rocket handles great in the rain. I have been out in the rain with it before. In fact it handles better in the rain than my Xterra did. That darn thing hydroplaned bad. I don't know yet how my Jeep handles cause we have been in such a draught since I bought it.

After re-reading your post Dave, I think I just figured out why it is going to be raining. Bear made me wash my bike a couple of weeks ago. I haven't been able to ride it due to being on-call and then the next time I wasn't on-all is when we had that downpour all weekend. It is all my fault because my bike is still clean! I better go throw some dirt on it or something.

Yes.. See, my bike has love bugs all over it as well as road grime.. and it hasn't rained since I've been back.

I do plan on cleaning it really good this weekend though, so it may rain then..

I am on-call all weekend so go ahead. Then maybe when I take the bike down our road through the mud Tuesday morning on the way out of town it will get good and dirty so the rest of the trip will be good dry weather.

Lisa and I rode to the northern NC mountains last weekend and didn't see a drop of rain. Very unusual, but I'm not complaining.

We took the kids to Carolina Beach for the Labor Day Weekend at it rained almost the whole time.

I balanced the tires on Wout and Amy's Jeep today so it would ride smooth for the trip.

Guess I'll start getting ready this weekend.
