Fall '09- Rocket launch - Maggie Valley

If anyone has tried to look at my website for tracking my progress, I appologize. The site isn't broke, I haven't left yet.

I had a fever and it turned out to be a urinary tract infection. :( I started antibiotics and as long as I feel ok, I will be leaving on Tuesday now and skipping the time with the Aunt. Oh well she isn't loaded anyway so no worries about being left out of the will. :D Just kidding, she had some family sick that she was helping out so it's just as well.

I was disappointed, I had everything ready to go and packed on my bike. I guess it will be there for Tuesday.

Later,

Gene

What to do...what to do....

Bear has been watching the weather channel all weekend and this morning. Weather looks really rotten. In fact the weather channel reported mud slides not too far from MV. We were supposed to leave in the morning. We have bounced back and forth about not going....going...not going...going somewhere with better projected weather...hauling the bikes....oh what the heck ride them....not going....

I think it said a 30 or 40 percent of rain here that means it either will not rain or if it does it's not but for a moment. Every time I have been up there it's been calling for rain but it only rained at night so that bring said I am going for broke and hopefully out run the rain if any Thursday

Ridinsunshine, If getting there is the worry throw the bike on a trailer. I have visited Maggie Valley 6 time already this year and based on that the days it has rained it came and went very quickly. There is plenty of activities to do in the area shoud the weather not pan out for riding. Turning off the weather channel will help with the decsion. :):D

Same thoughts here . . . I guess I will decide tomorrow.

Well as of right now ...guess we are going to chance it. But is supposed to be pouring rain all over Texas tomorrow. So we won't even have good weather here for first day of ride. :( As of right now we are riding and not trailering. My old man is old time biker and has never hauled his bike so that was going to bad for him if we hauled them. If the weather gets too bad for too long in route we may stay longer in one place to let it clear or we may detour and go some place with better weather. We will not have internet abilities with us so everyone just pray for us to make it without anything bad happening. And we will see you when we get there. If we change our mind in-route we will call the motel to cancel room and leave message for Steve since he is the ringleader for this event. As of right now we will be pulling out in the morning and arriving MV Thursday sometime.

I hope I do get to ride in the rain.
I'd sure do it just to get to be there with everybody.
Rain ain't nothin to worry about.
If it rains there, it'll blow over quick.
I'm sittin here waittin on a call from Triumph of Tulsa saying
"Your TPS is here".
So far nothin, but it ain't suppose to be here till Wednesday afternoon anyway.
If wishing and hoping could get it here sooner, it would have already been here.
Sunshine and Bear,
I'd sure like to meet y'all, and hope I get to yet.
At least you won't be the only 2 rocket family there.
And by next year there may be another 2 rocket family there, US.
