Exhaust question specific to the T

I realize that Triumph put twin pipes on the T to give it a balanced appearance and look more like a conventional bagger, and I do like the look, but it seems kinda silly to have all 3 pipes exit on one side but split it into 2 heavy pipes.

I'm not really asking a performance question but it seems to me the R3T could lose a few pounds with a simpler 3 into 1 exhaust, possibly getting a mild performance upgrade if the airbox end were loosened up also.

I assume this has already been done?

I might be missing the point but I wouldn't have bought a R3T if I was going to worry a weight. It's a bagger bike unlike the Roadster for instance.

Looks good. I was thinking maybe a Yoshimura-type can but this works.

Yea, I know it's never going to be a lightweight but this seemed like a natural.

I'll spend more time looking at the old threads.

Thanks, everybody.

I recon JAP bike parts would destroy the looks, hey but each to their own.
I wander how it would sound?

Japanese parts would destroy the look of a Rocket?? Really?

Back to the OP's question, as I'm sure you're aware the R3T mounts the muffler section to the bag rails. So far only a few manufacturers have made pipes that accommodate this, and all are two pipe systems. So, any other options would require fabricating a mount for the muffler section.
