Hey ya'll....

I just got done fighting and wrestling with my new Rivco engine guard bars and finally came out on top :D . I guess I'm the guy who always gets engine guards that don't "quite" line up correctly, even after dutifully following enclosed instructions. Ended up having to use a second floor jack to "persuade" the left guard to line itself up with the 2 lower mounting bolt holes. Anyway, my main question is.....

...after installing the front engine mounting bolt, there's not a whole lot of thread showing on the bolt as it's screwed into the nut on the left side. I have it torqued at 32 ft pounds. Has anyone else installed a Rivco engine guard and does your bolt appear as mine; in the below link; regarding the absence of visible threads on the bolt?

Does the nut have enough "bite" on the threaded end of the bolt? I'm accustomed to having a little of the threaded part of the bolt sticking out of the nut...

As long as the bolt is threaded through the nut the same length as it's diameter it will be at maximum strength, ie 12mm bolt -12mm wide nut, 10mm bolt -10mm wide nut.
I hope that makes sense to you

Yes, that makes perfect sense. Not having additional thread sticking beyond the nut is just a seemingly unsubstantiated concern at this point, I guess. I'll keep my eye on it though just in case.

Mebbe I shoulda stuck some Locktite on it as well....?

Thanks!

Kindest regards,

-Will
