Hello Team, I just replaced my spark plugs and in so doing knocked the coil wires off. After reattaching them the bike runs as smooth as ever but the engine light stays on. I tripled checked everything and can't find anything lose or unplugged. I've pulled the battery for a day, thinking the light would go out, but that didn't work. I've read comments saying it will go off eventually, or to get a TuneECU to delete the code.
My question is will I cause engine damage by running it with the engine light on?

Anyone else run into this?

You can read/erase the code with a standard OBD2 reader. If you don't have one, your dealer has a tool or almost any auto parts store can read it for you. You will have to ask them to allow you to erase it after reading.

Thanks for the fast response! So I won't damage the engine by riding it with the engine light on?

I did order the TuneECU cable, once I figure that out I'll be able to clear the codes myself.

You should be fine to ride it and the light may well go out after 10 minutes or so or after a couple of on/off cycles. If it persists, get it checked.

Thanks CranberraR3. I will post the results; riding season is still a few weeks off.
