Hello,
New member here, just wondering if anyone else knows of issues with the charging system? I've been through 3 regulator, rectifiers in the last 2 weeks, and they all are getting fried. The dealer put the latest one in, and it tested bad right out of the box. He got one off of a bike on the floor, put it in, tested good. I went for a ride, 300kms later, it's bad. The bike is going back this week, but trailering my bike is not what I had planned when I bought it.

That is strange.... maybe a floating neutral could do it.. I would check the ground connectors (follow the wire from the battery negative under the left side panel)
Other than that would be a real faulty (totally out of specs alternator.... windings done wrong but that would be very unlikely
Lastly an intermittent short between the regulator and fusebox.

I've heard (never experienced) that if the battery develops a dead cell even though it may still start the bike it will put a strain on the charging system because it will never reach full charge. If all else fails have the battery load tested at a battery place. It's also possible I'm FOS. It has been known to happen (already a couple of times today !)

Thanks for the welcome. This is a 2010 roadster, so it is under warranty, but ****, I bought the bike to ride, not continually use my trailer to go to the dealer, (100km away). I will pass on the info posted for the mechanic to peruse. I haven't done any upgrade or changes to the electrical system. Hopefully they can find the cause, but I'm still really worried, seeing as one reg/rec was bad right out of the box, Doesn't instill any confidence.
