The honda VTX is no problem.
Most of the ****** rockets are no problem-to a point.
From a standing start, you can take about any of them for the first 1/8 mile,
somewhere between there and the 1/4 mile mark their powerband kicks in,
and unless you've got your upper end unrestricted, you're done.
Doesn't really matter anyway, at the quarter mile marker you'll be close,
but if they can ride and keep the fun handle engaged, you loose.
our bikes will have them , harleys, busas, pretty much anything red light to red light,
but rolling, then the nod?
Nope, they're "that much" closer to their powerband kicking in.
Sorry to let the cat out of the bag here,
but the good news is, you can take any harley,
even the v-rod without much trouble at all.
The v-rod would at least be a race where the screaming turkey ain't...

Yep what skip said:cool:
Our beasts are packed full of low and mid range torque but they are heavy and they are definitely not a sport bike . as skip said from the lights you will smoke most but when those sport bikes hit that power band we are toast in the top end. you gotta remember that some of those bikes like the R1 for example roll off the factory floor with around 170hp or something like that and they are lite the rocket has alot more torque but thats it im affraid.
Its king of the cruisers .

You wanna go fast? Put a Carpenter Stage 2 (240hp kit) then add a TTS Super charger, and then bolt on a nitrous bottle. Around the time the engine detonates you'll be seeing the hottest hot-rodded Busa in your mirrors (as you enter orbit).:D

The last time I checked a HP Shootout from Daytona the winner had a nitrous enfused, supercharged 1400 Kawasaki putting down 600 HP on the dyno. I'm sure with enough money you can beat that.

Almost any 1000cc sport bike will out run a Rocket over 100 MPH. You will need to go the Carpenter route ( or similar ), super charger, or turbo route (or all 3 combined!) to run with them for a while. Still some will out run you. And almost all of them will our run the Rocket at top speed. I would not expect to beat that BMW 1600, even from take off. Would like to hear how you do though!.. :)

I kept a ZX14 in my rear view mirror up to about the end of my 3rd gear and then he was gone and I wasn't going to catch him at all.

Anyone buying a Rocket for outright speed has made a serious miscalculation. You need a Busa/ZX14 for that or a VMax for outright acceleration. But what you get is an awsome riding experience that nothing can match for it's all round capabilities. As Mitch says, it's king of the cruisers and it can mix it with the best of all the specialist types.

my rocket is a lonely beast in this town or state for that mater. i have to represent Triumph all on my own:( i no its the king of crusers and it seems everybody wants a piece of 2300 cc glory for braging rights, its total bs:mad: i am also just learning how to ride it with all that new power. not doing bad though so we keep on fighten.. just seems like i need bout 20 more ponys, maybe shocks for better control i dont no, through me a bone .. what about the power comander 5 over top of waynes tune ?

I don't know why you want to race anyone anyway. I never do. Nothing to gain and all I'd be doing is giving some plonker something to brag about. Just pick you moments and blast away from the lights or give it a twist when they're not looking then back off. Leave them wondering.
