Easy fix for leaking fork seals

For about seven bucks, & a fiver postage ex US., why bother????

ALL (that know of this little tool)

I know this is an old post but this thread saved me sending the bike to the shop.

I read the information on the Seal Mate - watched the video and then made my own version using the side wall of a 4pint plastic milk carton.
Removed the dust seal and used my home made seal mate to clean out any contamination between the seal and the fork leg - and hey presto front fork leak cured.

Another great tip learned from the guys on this forum - thanks again R3owners members

Ya I carry one in my air box !! Works even if you leave the dust covers in position.

Humm, I have a fork off a 2015 that started leaking out the bottom. Found out the cap head bolt that holds everything in the leg, was loose. I can re-seal it, and tighten with an impact wrench, but don;t know how to tell if it's empty of oil, how to re-fill, how much, etc. etc. If I pull that cap head bolt out, will the fork drain completely, and can I then add the right ? amount of oil? in the top? or do I have to take the guts out, etc. I've read a few posts about fork service, but still unsure. And having a spare set of forks, I'm not in a big hurry to tear into it.
