This may be a topic that has been discussed before but i am going to order the eastern beaver relay kit. My consern is that i have HIDs and i ddnt know if they wired up the same with or without them. I also know some HIDs come with relays, would these relays with the hids have the same resalts?

My guess then is even if they have their own relays, they are probably still getting their power from the ignition switch, which is the weak link in the Rocket wiring. That's what the eastern beaver kit does is relay around the ignition switch to take the headlight load away from it.

Spot On Fred, the HID's are still going to need their main feed wire going thru the Eastern Beaver set up so the main current draw is not going thru the ignition switch
Are the HID's the solenoid type that go in and out to Change the be am whilst use just the one element for low and hi beams if so you should check how much current they draw possibly run them thru the Eastern Beaver set up and run the main power thru another relay direct from battery

It should also be said that those HID's are illegal simply because they haven't been certified. There is a solid chance you're shooting light where it has no business going on the road, headlights are meticulously certified so they put the light on the road and not in the eyes of other motorists.

The good solution is to replace your headlights entirely with LED reflector inserts (and the Eastern Beaver kit still comes in handy). Granted, 5.25 inch LED reflectors cost a bit of money. For the R3T you can get Truck-lite Phase 7's for under $400 for all three.

I spent a lot of time with HID in cars and bikes - They are generally ABSOLUTELY CRAP in Triumph R3 OEM 5&3/4" headlight reflectors. They simply highlight what a cruddy design the OEM reflectors are.

If you take the HID route - then you MUST wire 100% independent as any part of the circuit that uses the OEM feed relay that serves both starter and lights will result in life reduction of the HID burners - HID's DO NOT like being switched on and off.

Is the eastern beaver something required on 2013 and later or is it something that triumph has resolved with later models?
