I just fitted a new Excedra Max rear tire, and tried to get dyna beads through the valve stem with no luck,,, is there a secret to this??, I have used this method on other bikes with no problem.. TIA

Easiest way to get them in the valve stem is use something that vibrates, an electric engraver is excellent for this .
Touch the valve stem with it while pouring the beads in.
You could use a palm sander too.

Last time I put them in I used a rubber bulb (used for ear washing) to agitate the beads in the installation tube. I filled the tube about half full of beads then stuck the tip of the bulb in the end. Squeezing and releasing the bulb causes the air in the tube to move, keeping the beads agitated.
It may take a while, but you can see steady progress. You may build up a strong forearm.

Dynabeads

Here you go Six-pack, this is from the Dynabeads website and it worked for me.
Scroll down to where it says "motorcycle tire application
"http://www.innovativebalancing.com/service.htm#VibrationInstall

Well, I ain't afraid to admit, I can not understand how dyna beads work! I know the same principle is used in cars, and heavy trucks too. BUT, all I can get into my head, is when the washing machine gets a few things out of balance, then goes into the spin cycle, and does Michael Jackson across the floor. When you open the lid, ALL the clothes are wadded up on one side. What stops dyna beads from doing the same thing? If you get a flat with dyna beads at, say 40/50 mph, do they all run to one side of the flat, causing more wobble, or less? I just can't get this simple thing, that does work, into my thick old head.:D

You bring up an interesting point. WTF does happen if you get a flat

I've tried the dyna beads and they suck or at least I think they do. I put the correct amount in the tires as the website states. When I get up to 100 mph or so the front end shakes like crazy. I emailed dyna beads and told them at "100 mph I get this awful vibration in the front handle bars". They tell me there is something mechanically wrong with my bike. They said that what I described wasn't a out of balance problem. Whatever!! I was so levied that I didn't even reply back. I didn't have this problem with lead weights. The reason I went with dyna beads was because I didn't like the sticky residue on my wheels.

So I by now I have been up to 100 mph with my head slightly hung over so I can see the tire while going this fast and can tell you it's the **** tire going up and down!!! Out of balance!

Once I get another tire I will be going back with weights. The rear tire doesn't seem to be causing any problems but the rear tire always seem to need less weight or no weights at all. So I don't expect the rear tire to be out of balance or cause problems. These are Metz tires if that helps any.... front and rear tires.

Oh........ if you insist on using dyna beads the best thing to do is install them while the tire is being mounted. If I had to go through the valve stem I doubt seriously I would use dyna beads. Especially knowing what I know now.
