The only things you can do from the front , are the lever return spring and the detent spring ! The return spring is as
@Rocket Scientist photo at the beginning of this thread , and retained by a circlip ! Before you take anything apart tho , undo the gear linkage and feel the spring tension on the actuator arm . Also make sure the actuator arm is lined up with it's Mark on the shaft as this can affect shifting . A problem with the return spring will be obvious in the tension of the arm !
