I had the alarm system fitted when I first bought the bike. If it rains the alarm goes off. If I wash the bike, the alarm goes off. Water is finding its way into the wiring somewhere and causing a short. I told the dealer of the problem but they said that it was unusual but could not find a problem. They obviously didn't spray the bike with a hose! Got the bike back home after the sevice. Went to clean it. F**king alarm goes off. Midnight in my shorts and bike boots, in the piss down rain pressing the f**king remote to stop the alarm sounding every time it resets. I ended up putting the alarm on the "winter" setting. Otherwise known as OFF. Not a great move for security reasons.
Has anyone had the same problem? Can you help? Please, please, please. :(

Yep mine did exactly the same the last time I washed it, about 2 weeks ago. I set to the valet mode and drove it till it got really hot and let some wind do its thing on it at about 100mph for a while.

That made it a lot better but didn't cure it completely, that was achieved by taking it to town and letting it get hot and and the fan did the rest.

Next time I have the tank up I'm speay it with wd40.

Mine did it after not long after having bike and while giving it a soaking .

I lifted the tank etc , and sprayed all the electric connectors , has never done it since .

I had the side panels off and sprayed with WD40 each of the connections. I did not spray under the tank or around the headlights. I think I have sprayed everywhere except where the problem is! Typical! :?
Cheers for the advice lads. Off with the Tank this weekend. :)
Mike.
