My dashboard has started acting up...
Day 1: The steering lock is no longer working.
Day 2: The turn signals are no longer working.
Day 3: I can't access the "map" menu or change the mileage data...and the engine start is random !

Any ideas?

steering lock is not dashboard, its the security key sensor, probably your security sensor at the front is loose or something
blinker not working - yes could be dashboard but steering lock must work regardless or dashboard

what did you do last to the bike? any mods, anything you touched?

What did I do? I changed the oil a month ago...
Perhaps our English friends have linked the oil change to a dashboard warning light...those English guys are fecund! :D

lol,
try reseating the dash instrument connector, check the fuse of dash instrument cluster, reseat that as well

So what? The dealer is completely out of touch... he noticed that turning the handlebars allows the dashboard to work... intermittently! He asked me to take the motorcycle back because he couldn't deal with it right away. I refused because it was too dangerous, with the risk of a sudden malfunction, so I'm waiting to hear back from him.

I did stop by to ask about the situation, and according to the technicians at Triumph France, this problem has already occurred and is due to the switches having a wiring harness that's too short (!). The constant pulling on them when turning the handlebars causes the wires to break, and since it's a CAN bus system, it's a real mess. Anyway, I'm waiting...

NB: I had the exact same problem 15 years ago with my Speed Triple 1050: a wiring harness (copper this time) that was too short, poorly positioned, and caused short circuits!

All this to save a penny, what a joke!

sometimes moving the handlebar towards rider side or away from rider side makes harness gain some length. looks like handlebar is at furthest away and harness reached its length limit
