Never done anything like this, but wanted to try. I saw in youtube manual Chinese leather sewing machine and that looked working well enough as about 100 euros rough looking manual tool i ordered it from Aliexpress, some coffee brown leathers, thick sewing thread, gel pads and sewing machine needles. I had some 1cm and 2cm thickfoam in garage. I clued it around gel pads and used corner grinder to make it smooth. Over the foam i put silicone film as thought to make foam waterproof.
I had bought laser encarver earlier and tried it on leather. Works well, so designed some graphics on top and sides i encarved like full of wormholes fading on top.
I put some film ever the seat, covered with masking tape and draw there lines where stiching should ve about. Took film off with tape, cut through lines in pieces and used tgose as sabloon to cut leathers with some extra for sewing.
Sewing was not so easy as first try. I made some mistakes, but got it done somehow.
When cover was finished it looked wrinkled. I soaked it with leather balsam from both sides and put on the seat. Then i put lots of wires under the seat to pull leather tight and left it to stretch pne day. Now and then tightened wires. Then i stabled it around and cut excess off. Buttom of seat is lower, so it needed something to pull it tight. I bought long needles and managed to get some threaths through the hole in bottom and tightened there.
It needs some driving now to break it in, but my bike is at suspension shop as Wilbers shock preload hose broke.
