coolant leakage

There is no bolt,it appears to be coming from a 3mm weep hole at the back of the pump. Most water pumps have one.

You can see the pink coolant encrustation around the hole.

Yep that pretty much sums it up. Jack up the radiator cap and drive a new one under it.

Im wondering if the leekage from the weep hole is due to the gland in the pump leaking. It does say to check it for leakage ,but doesnt say how.

Seriously, but.....

That hole oughta be between the water pump water seal (around the shaft) and the engine. So if water's coming out, the seal's shot. Doubt it can be repaired. New pump??

Yes,new pump, the pump is non servicable.
And of course both Perth dealers and the Bunbury one appear to have closed till the new year.
They could have at least left a message on their phone or on their web sites.

I think the hole is there to allow the coolant to escape and not build up and leak into the oil via the shaft.

I reckon that's the deal, Zim.....

And you will discover the pumps are on back order to the factory ex the manufacturer in Botswanaland, who is currently on holidays for three months, but there should be one available about late February or so....probably.....

Shoot learn sumthin new every day.

Thought a magpie was a crow ..wikipedia says of the crow family ..but they don't resemble our crows. ( of which the west nile virus did a # on them but I'm seeing them come back ...well at the edge of my back yard anyways) but I digress.

So whats a rough lifespan of a water pump anyways??

Magpies can be nasty little ****ers when they have young in the nest, any other time of the year you can hand feed without much effort.
Some local kids have lost the sight in one eye after a maggie swooped them and collided with the kids faces.

So whats a rough lifespan of a water pump anyways??
