Has anyone had coolant leaking from rear engine plug on right side about half way up on the engine? The plug is a 14mm allen drive and behind the small filler cover.

Trying to find out torque settings for the plug- if I can even get a allen drive in there- small area

Thanks

If you do a search on 'coolant leaks' you'll find it. Britman's was leaking. The easiest fix is removal and teflon tape. Not the white stuff but the pink stuff. OEM torque is, I believe (without looking it up) 18 Nm. The earlier plugs were shoulderless and the later plugs have shoulders. In lieu of teflon tape, Permatex anerobic pipe sealant will also work.

Success!

I had to find a short/stubby 14mm hex socket, found on eBay for BMW oil changes. Purchased the Copper Washer from Bike bandit and wrapped threads with plumber's pink sealant tape.

No Runs, No Drips, No Errors
