Yup, the ECU got the ground it was looking for through the test light! Kinda what I had him do the other day with the piece of wire to the neg battery post.

So I have clamped tester light to the negative in the battery.
With connected sensor - not pushed into the lever, the light is on , on the black/red cable and black cable as well.
The light is on on the first plug underneath the tank. The is NO light on the exposed wire by the ECU. Neither with ignition on nor of.
What does it mean?
I'm very confused

Go back and re-read my post from last night carefully regarding POS battery post and ECU disconnected.
Connected to black/red cable above the ECU with ECU disconnected. Touched POS - No light. With sensor installed, with clutch pulled and not- NO light.
With sensor NOT connected. With wires brigded - no light.
Don't have the stand , could not be bothered to lie on the floor to look for a stand switch to check colours but I took a picture of the wire by the handle bars and it is definitely black/red , even wife confirmed in case of suspicion of colour blindness ;-)

Ok. Set up the light the same way and ground the black/red at the bar does the light come on? If yes, then take the clamp off the ECU and attach it to the black write at the bar and touch the POS battery with the light. Does it light up?

Good morning
Once again I apologize for my mistake.
We r both working to solve this problem
I hope u do not mind me giving my opinion and we can work together.

I think he said he put the clamp on neg bat post then touched the clutch switch wire and it lit up
Do u think he is hooked up to the wrong wire?

More the merrier! I'll have to go back and re-read. If he got the test light lit by touching neg on the battery and the clutch switch wire, then yeah. When I get back to my computer, I'll re evaluate

I have indeed put a clamp on negative ( - ) on the battery and both wires lit the tester when touched.

I think let's try again
Clamp to pos (make sure double check) touch clutch switch wire light should be on. When u push switch in I think the light will go out on one wire.

When I posted that u should have a light when hooked to ground I was mistaken
There should not be a light.
I don't know what to tell u. Will think for a while.
