Clutch basket

I am having trouble removing the clutch basket from an 09 R3 touring. How do you keep the basket from turning while turning the center nut? Is there anything else a first timer needs to know?

Try selecting a high gear and get someone to sit on the rear brake pedal while you release the centre nut.

It's in gear and the bike is not moving. The center of the basket just spins with the nut.

Thank you. I broke one of the 5 points that the pressure plate bolts go into. What is that part of the basket called and is direct from Triumph the best place to get one?

Try an impact wrench.

Rattle gun works ... the clutch nut is torqued to 105nm iirc

If you have old plates and fibres ( like most R3 pilots seem to ) just screw a few together and you have the Triumph tool mentioned above
