Keep it simple...

but not GREEN....Cane...I would offer you one piece of advise. Take it for what its worth. If you are using a cleaner or solvent that you have no experience with...do a TEST PATCH where it can't be seen easily by others. "DO NOT" believe what sales people or "buddies" may tell you about a cleanser....EVER...especially if they own a body shop...

I don't know what you are trying to clean but I would stick to dish soap and a soft cloth to keep from doing any damage to my paint, it's finish or chrome.

An experience that cost me $2K once...Washed a 20' Wells Cargo trailer with the very same product you are playing with diluted in water. Etched the finish on the whole trailer to the point that it had to be repainted......great decision on my part for body shop...not good for bank account...SB...

ah simple green thats what us rc car guys use to clean up our toys a combo simple green and denatured alchahol 50/50 mix works nice for grease and grime and an air dry leaves no residue. havent tried on paint though i emagin if it was bad everyone would be saying someting about it not recomending it.

Yea I here you, Silver Bullet that must of hurt and that's why I'm asking because I don't want to damage my paint.
and Nightrocket your right the shop does use it around the shop to clean oil spiles and they do say it leaves no residue.
I was at my Toyota dealer and I was asking what is a good chrome cleaner and he said don't buy that its to expessive to buy simple green it will clean my chrome up nice and if I have a bike that I could spray all of my bike and rinse it and my chrome will be shinny my paint will be shinny and don't need to buy any more other clenner.
And another guy heard us talking about it and he also said its great I just thought great! no more chrome cleaners it sound good but I think I need to hear other people useing it I would hate to get my self in a situation like Siver Bullet.

Simple Green will strip wax off of painted surfaces and is a good degreaser. A highly diluted batch would be ok but I recommend avoiding using it straight. I've heard reports of damage to aluminum and some rubber items when used under the hood of a car or truck.

YMMV

Honda sells a bike cleaner/polish in a spray can that works great on everything but your seat and grips. [Would make them too slippery.] 5 Bucks a can. Spray it on and wipe it off with a soft cloth. Bought a can last sat. and tried it. It works great!! Took bugs off of windshield, shines chrome and painted surfaces.
The green stuff and the purple stuff are too strong for paint, in my opinion.

wilburt-t, Do you know the name of this all purpose cleaner? Oh I also herd that 10w40 cleans chrome nice has any one herd of that?

Straight Simple Green is not good for aluminum. Diluted down may be alright, but don't use it straight.

Honda makes a good product for cleaning just about everything on your bike... no water involved. I've been using it for years without incident. Wilibur-T talked about it as well.

WD40 works well on chrome when you have a bootmark...on rainsuit pants melted on your pipe.

Mother's aluminum polish works great on your shiny stuff but don't use it on paint.
