Hi
I just bought my first Rocket lll but i will love to have louder pipes I fill safer, the question will be if it possibe to make the clayton modification?
thanks for your help

powertripp has posted a few times a dyno sheet from a bike where the stock exhaust was drilled out with a 1" drill. Not sure how it sounds on the rocket, or how long of a drill you would need. That and I believe that was on a touring model which have the cats in the pipes.

Lots of louder pipes on the market for the Roc111, and as everyone knows LOUD PIPES SAFE LIVES I also have a bridge for sale in New York if anyone is interested.

Which bridge? I'm looking to add to my real estate holdings in NYC (currently own the Brooklyn Bridge).:kick:

never heard of the clayton mod.
care to expound on that?
BTW, welcome to the site.
Some of the VTX owners were doing this mod to their exhausts to enhance the sound of the stock pipes. Basically they drilled holes around the outer edges of the pipes as shown...

Don't do the hole drill method.. I've never heard a drilled set of pipes sound worth a crap. I don't know which R3 you have, but D&D sells a set for the Rocket III Standard/Classic for around $500.00 and they bolt on in no time.

And I have witnessed my Jardines saving my life. If the driver had not heard me, I would have been a statistic instead of a witness..

G'day , Welcome ... When i first got my Rocket i modified the stock exhaust. Opened up the Cat Box and removed baffle plates and drilled through the remaining ones. Drilled the end of the stock mufflers, removed the fibreglass stuff. I was happy with the results. I've since gone to a custom 3 into 1 system.

Welcome to the site. No harm in trying anything you want, but be warned - once the bug bites there's no end to it. Drilling probably works a little but you'll soon want more.

Welcome to the site from Irvine Kentucky let us know what happens when you start drilling the holes also you all may liked Bridge up around New Jersey but I'm looking for that oceanfront property in Arizona
