If certain insurers are talking "not recommended fitment" then ANY brand tire that the bike maker does not list as recommended will screw the rider - won't matter if it's a motorcycle tire or not. Let's face it, a good portion of insurance companies are only looking out for their bottom line and it's up to us to keep up on their insecure B.S.

Fact is, there are plenty of issues that make a bike a lot less "road worthy" than running a car tire. Pig wattling ultra-extended choppers are one in my book. Do they get insured? What about ultra wide ass'd customs with 300, 360 or wider tires? Do they get insured? What about Boss Hoss bikes that have been running car tires since they been made? Do they get insured?

We already know insureres are just looking for stupid excuses to save them money. They've got no real clue of how bikes run and don't care to learn for our sakes. I think a list of customizer friendly bike insurers needs to be compiled so we can avoid corporate B.S.
