I have started, downloaded and installed TuneECU.
Now the cable, downloaded and saved drivers, disconnected the internet, plugged in the cable but no dialog boxes cam up.

Should something have shown on the computer saying I had connected something and where are the drivers?

Its Windows 10 as well.

Any ideas on what has gone wrong?

Does the PC make a sound?
If it is a Lonlec cable it would have instructions for setup

Okay, no sound, but I usually have the sound turned down.
It is a lonlec cable, ordered in from the UK if I remember correctly.
I'll have another play this evening and chase these things up.

Watching with interst. Since I've upgraded my laptop to Windows 10, my Lonlec cable hasn't wanted to connect either.

Install the program you just downloaded

Connect cable to computer
Hit Windows and X key at same time
Click Device Manager
Double click Ports (COM & LPT)
Double click USB Serial Port (COMx) x can be any number, depends on the number of COM ports you have used
Click Driver tab
Check Driver Version is same as you installed

Open Tune ECU
Click Options
Click Interface
Click USB
Click FT232R USB UART This should put a checkmark before FT232R

AFTER all of that, connect to bike

As Wild says.

Win10 has forced driver assigning so if you simply plug in the cable windows assigns it a driver (the wrong one:mad:) you need to install the drivers for the cable and it will work. Frustrating but they are trying to make things simple for the masses.

Thank you all, I think the cable and driver is now working.
Next is to try connecting it all up and giving the HansO tune a go.
